Get ready for a FULL day of FUN!
On Thursday, June 20 Nelson County Parks and Recreation is participating in the Play All Day VA initiative organized by the VRPS: Virginia Recreation & Park Society along with 39 other Parks and Recreation departments across the state to promote a full day of play on the longest day of the year – Summer Solstice.
There will have activities for all ages throughout the day capped off with a Community PLAY Celebration that evening at the Nelson Center.
Whether you are an early riser and want to get in a before work guided sunrise hike at our “First Light Hike Through The Blue Ridge” held at the Blue Ridge Tunnel or stop by the Nelson Center for our evening celebration with bounce houses, games, food trucks, etc. to end the night, we have something for everyone.
