Due to the federal government shutdown that occurred on October 1, 2025. The US Department of Agriculture has notified the Commonwealth of Virginia that November SNAP benefits cannot be issued at this time. However, SNAP benefits already loaded onto EBT cards can still be used to purchase food during the shutdown. If additional guidance is not received from the federal government before October 31, 2025, November benefits will not be distributed to EBT cards. This is a nationwide issue impacting all SNAP recipients and cannot be appealed.
