Notice of Office Holiday Closing
Nelson County courts, departments and offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day and will reopen for regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The Transfer Station remains closed due to the tipping floor replacement project. The Amherst County Landfill located at 715 Kentmoor Farm Road in Madison Heights will be open for normal hours of operation on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Monday, May 25, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The County Convenience Centers and all public safety operations will continue to maintain regular hours of operation.
