January 2026 Declaration of Local Emergency-Winter Storm Fern Nelson County has declared a local emergency due to Winter Storm Fern.  This, in conjunction with the Governor’s statewide State of Emergency declaration, better positions the County to mobilize resources, implement necessary operations, and request state and/or federal resources if needed following the storm.
