Warming Center Opening

Due to expected severe weather moving into the area on Saturday January 24, Nelson County will be opening a warming center at Lovingston Volunteer Fire Department located at 53 Baker Lane in Lovingston. This will allow citizens without heat or power a place to warm up and charge electronic devices. The center will open at 6PM on Saturday January 24 will be open 24/7 through at least January 26.

The warming center will not be providing meals, cots or blankets.

County Emergency Management advises all citizens to have alternate heating sources and make any preparations as soon as possible. This includes charging all electronic devices and having nonperishable, ready-to-eat foods in stock at home.
