Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday: 8am to 3:30pm
Saturday: 8am to 11:45am
Closed on Sundays

Additional closings include New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Call for hours during these holiday periods. The facility may also be closed when snow and ice create unsafe conditions. During inclement weather, call the facility to check on operational status.

Tipping Fees

Commercial and residential trash is accepted during operating hours.
A tipping fee of $55/ton is charged for commercial trash (scales measure in 20 pound increments). Call for current rates on tires. The County no longer accepts commercial tires for disposal, only residential. Construction fees are charged for both residents and commercial entities.

Disposal of Household Items

Household items such as mattresses, box springs, furniture, kitchen appliances, washers, and dryers should be taken to the Transfer Station. PLEASE do not drop these items off at any of the Collection Centers.

Recycling & Solid Waste Collection Centers

Nelson County offers multiple locations for residents to drop off recycling and solid waste. Use of County facilities is limited to persons who either reside in Nelson County or who own real estate property in the County. VIEW LIST OF CENTERS

Directions
From Lovingston, go south on U.S. 29 for approximately 8 miles. Turn east (left) on Morse Lane (VSH 748). Go 1 mile to end of road.
