A. Ordinance O2025-03 – Amendment to Appendix A Zoning, Article 10 General Floodplain District FP
Consideration of proposed amendments that would keep the County’s floodplain management ordinance and enforcement procedures in compliance with NFIP requirements (44CFR 59.22) by replacing the definitions for “Post FIRM,” “Pre FIRM,” and “New Construction,” and updating references to the upcoming effective date in Sections 10-7, 10-8, and 10-9. This proposed ordinance would adopt the new floodplain maps effective August 5, 2025.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NELSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
In accordance with Volume 3A, Title 15.2, Counties, Cities and Towns, of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and pursuant to §15.2-2204 and §15.2-2285, the Nelson County Board of Supervisors hereby gives notice that a Joint Public Hearing of the Board and Planning Commission will start at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the General District Courtroom on the third floor of the Nelson County Courthouse located at 84 Courthouse Square, Lovingston. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on an Ordinance proposed for passage amending and re-enacting Zoning Ordinance Article 10, General Floodplain District FP as follows:
