Public Meeting for the Proposed Norwood-Wingina Historic District

Over the past 18 months, representatives from HistoryTech, a historic resources consulting firm based in Lynchburg, have been documenting and evaluating the significance of historic buildings and sites in the Norwood and Wingina area. The purpose of the survey project is to evaluate the area’s potential for possible listing in the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places as a rural historic district. An informational public meeting on this project was held in November of 2012.

The public is cordially invited to attend a public meeting to learn about the project’s findings and recommendations:

Tuesday June 10, 2014
7:00 p.m.
St. John Baptist Church, 9939 Norwood Road

Representatives of the County of Nelson, Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and HistoryTech will be on hand to present information on the project and answer questions.

A draft copy of the survey report document may be downloaded by visiting www.historytech.com. You will see an article about the project on the front page.
