The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing community recreation for children, youth and adults. The services of the department contribute immensely to the building of sound physical and mental health, citizenship and character, and to reducing crime and delinquency. The department promotes educational and emotional growth as well as the social, cultural and moral well-being of families and communities. The Nelson County Parks & Recreation Department is located in The Nelson Center at 8445 Thomas Nelson Highway in Lovingston.
