The Montebello Volunteer Fire Department provides emergency services 24 hours a day. These services are not only available to the approximately 500 permanent residents in our target area, but to the thousands of visitors that travel on the Blue Ridge Parkway or camp and hike in the National Forest. Frequently the agency is called upon to support neighboring agencies. The monthly business meeting is 7PM on the second Monday and open to the public.
Firefighting
Structure and forest fires are always a threat to our remote mountain community. Firefighting equipment includes a modern fire/rescue vehicle, a tanker and a brush truck. Frequently our unit supports County, State and Federal firefighting agencies. Volunteers are needed. Call 540-377-2145.
Search & Rescue
MVFD is called upon to assist in the search for lost persons. Special training and technology are required. Persons interested in this type of volunteer service should call 540-377-2145.
