An ID is required to vote at the polls. Please verify your voter registration, polling place and valid ID before Election Day.
Polls open from 6 am until 7 pm.
Tuesday, May 30, 2023 is the last day to register to vote or change your voter registration for this election. (Voters may register after this date, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot).
Mailed voter registration applications must be sent to the Nelson County Voter Registration and Elections Office postmarked on or before the May 30, 2023 deadline.
Vote by Absentee Voting – request an absentee ballot online
Friday, June 9, 2023: Last day to request an absentee ballot by mail. Applications must be received in the Nelson County Voter Registration and Elections Office by 5:00 pm.
Friday, June 23, 2023: All absentee voted ballots must be returned to the Nelson County Voter Registration and Elections Office by noon (EST) to be counted.
Drop boxes will be located in the Registrar’s Office during the hours of in-person absentee voting on Monday, June 19, 2023 and at all the Precincts on Election Day.

Saturday, June 10, 2023, 9 am – 5 pm
Saturday, June 17, 2023, 9 am – 5 pm. Last day to vote in-person absentee ballot at the Nelson County Voter Registration and Elections Office.
Office is closed Monday, May 29, 2023 (Memorial Day).
