Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 training course offered by the Central Blue Ridge chapter for new Virginia Master Naturalist volunteers. Classes and field trips will cover subjects such as ecology, insects, birds, trees, streams, citizen science, conservation, climate change, and geology. If you like nature study, hiking, birding, fishing, forestry, and educating others, this program is for you!
Volunteers in the program engage in a wide variety of local, state, and national projects that promote wise management of natural resources. Numerous opportunities for on-going education are provided to members throughout the year, most of which are free.
Indoor classes will be held on Sunday afternoons at the Nelson Center on U.S. 29 in Lovingston, beginning January 30. Last date of classes and field trips is April 10.
