Voter Registration Deadline: October 17, 2016
The deadline to register to vote in the Presidential Primary election is Monday, October 17, 2016. The constitution of Virginia requires that voters be registered in the precinct in which they live in order to be qualified to vote. Qualified residents who will be at least 18 years of age on or before November 8, 2016, may register to vote. To register to vote, you must complete a voter registration application. Use this website to fill out the online application form. You can also download a blank mail-in voter registration application and complete it by hand. Registered voters who need to change their address may do so by completing, signing and submitting a voter registration application, the voter card, or on-line at www.vote.virginia.gov . The deadline to change registration information prior to the November General and Special Election is October 17, 2016. If a registered voter’s address has changed, the voter should update their address to ensure they remain qualified to vote.

Deadline to Apply In Person: Saturday, November 5, 2016 by 5:00 p.m.
Voters may apply for an absentee ballot in person or by mail, email, fax, or online at www.vote.virginia.gov
On any election, whether General, Primary, or Special – the polls are required to open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
