Lepidoptera (moths, butterflies and other creatures) Evening Extravaganza at Rockfish Valley Foundation Natural History Center. 7:30PM. Free. Visit the center for an evening presentation by master gardener Kathey Quelland, moth expert, Phil Hearne, moth guru and moth and monarch butterfly expert Dr. Lincoln Brower. First, tour our newly installed gorgeous butterfly garden and learn how to create your own backyard butterfly paradise. Next, go inside to see our new butterfly displays and activities for children, a demonstration of our local underwing and sphinx moths and examine mounted specimens. When darkness approaches, head toward the large backlit sheet to enjoy a special moth night presentation. Light refreshments will be provided. We are particularly pleased to have Dr. Lincoln Brower join us. A graduate of both Yale and Princeton, he is a Research Professor of Biology, Sweet Briar College and Distinguished Service Professor of Zoology, Emeritus at the University of Florida.
