September - RUMBA

Rumba is a slow, romantic dance. It's great for any night out on the town, and it's a great first dance for a wedding couple.

October - WALTZ & POLKA
Lessons: Mondays, October 6, 13, 20, 27   7:15-8 pm
OmPaPa...the traditional sound of any Octoberfest is perfect for the Waltz..and of course the other highlight...the fun high energy Polka!

November - NIGHT CLUB 2-STEP
Lessons: Monday, November 3, 10, 17, 24  7:15-8 pm
You've been wanting to take dance lessons,... Here's your answer! This is a great beginners dance and is perfect for the upcoming holiday parties.

Teach your dog the basic commands to be a safe and well mannered pet
For dogs 12 weeks to 7 years and all their human family
Your dog will learn to sit, come, stay, & more
The whole family is encouraged to attend.  Maximum: 12 dogs per class

This course is required for anyone 12-15 years of age or if you have not previously purchased a regular hunting license.

You will be required to complete several hours of self study before the class. Some material on the final test will be covered in the self study NOT during actual class time.

To be sure of passing the test and receiving a certification card, the student must either study online or study the free manual that can be picked up at NCPRD at the Nelson Center.

There will be a short midday break for lunch (bring snacks & lunch or purchase nearby).

A morning of contemplative walking and nature-inspired writing/drawing on the scenic Rockfish Valley Loop Trail. Experience the intersection of three awareness practices: mindfulness, walking, and creative expression in writing or drawing. Each practice enriches the others; the focus of this walk will be awakening the five senses. No writing or drawing experience necessary.
Best for adults and teens able to walk in mindful silence. We'll open and close with a discussion circle.
Bring a light snack, water bottle, pen and small notebook and/or drawing pad and colored pencils
Proceeds go to NCPRD for outdoor activity scholarships for kids
LOCATION: Rockfish Valley Loop Trail  Meet at the back parking area behind the Rockfish Valley Natural History Museum on Rte 151.
