Wintergreen Siren Test-June 26, 2019

June 19, 2019

The Wintergreen community will be testing a mass-notification siren system on June 26, 2019. Beginning at approximately 10:30AM, testing will be conducted at three proposed sites. Devils Knob, Laurel Springs, and Stoney Creek will each be tested to assure that sirens can be heard at all properties within Wintergreen. Each test will last approximately 2 minutes. During each test there will be teams in pre-determined areas with decibel meters to quantify performance.

The sirens will be loud.   Once installed they will be used to alert citizens of approaching tornados, wildfires, or possibly other threats such as active-shooters.

The siren tests will of course be heard in areas near Wintergreen but not actually within our community.   We do apologize in advance for any inconvenience the tests may cause.

For further information or questions regarding this test, please contact Chief Curtis Sheets at csheets@wtgfireresq.org
