A new working group formed by UVA President Jim Ryan and made up of University of Virginia faculty, staff and students and local community members has identified seven pressing issues facing the Central Virginia area.
The issues include (in no particular order):
- Affordable housing.
- Jobs/wages at UVA.
- Youth and education.
- Law enforcement and criminal justice reform.
- Public health care.
- Institutional accountability at UVA.
The group is asking for the regional community to help prioritize these issues by ranking them by order of importance. The TJPDC is responding considering regional impact.
We ask that as regional leaders, you complete the linked survey to show your prioritization of these seven issues. The survey link is UVA Community Survey. You may answer either as an individual or as an organization.
In addition to the survey, in the next couple weeks, the working group will conduct several outreach events and will even make door-to-door visits to members of the community. Continuing information is available on the UVA web site UVA Community Working Group
